New Years Resolution: Week Two In Review
If you haven’t checked it out yet, here’s an explanation of my 2025 New Year’s Resolutions. My goal is to track my progress for an entire year.
This is a review of the second full week of January (Jan 13-19).
My 2024 New Year’s Resolutions
Read for Pleasure
I could do better here. I tend to either forget about reading or I feel too tired to engage with anything beyond Facebook… but we all know how satisfying Facebook is as reading material (not very). I have the Libby app on my phone and just need to remember to use it.
7/10Increase My Fitness Post-Surgery
I am doing pretty well with this but I didn’t do all the strength training I hoped to do last week. I’d like to be consistently doing that 3 times a week.
7/10Improve My VO2 Max
I could do better here, too. I got the Fit Bit and figured out how to charge it but that’s as far as I’ve gotten. I would like to get it figured out and also reread Peter Attia’s chapter on VO2 max increasing longevity, though I’d be happy to just get the Fit Bit up and running.
3/10Eat Low Carb, Moderate Protein, High Fat
I’m doing pretty well with this but used keto breads (and cookies, once) last week as a bridge to keto/low carb. They actually made me more hungry and have more cravings so I’d like to (mostly? completely?) taper off those this week.
I did cut down on fruit last week but didn’t eliminate it.
8/10Practice Intermittent Fasting
I’m not doing so well with remembering to use my fasting app but I am ranging from 14-19 hours. The 19 hour fast actually felt amazing. I feel really energized and focused when I am fasting well.
Having breakfast out on Saturday and therefore breaking my fast early set me up to be hungry all day.
8/10Start Jogging Again
Prioritize Sleep and Rest
I’m doing really well with remembering to rest! I don’t always sleep well but I am doing my best.
9/10Floss every day
7/10Blog Daily
I am proud of me! No missed days!!! I’ve never done anything like this before and I’m amazed and having fun!
10/10Ask for What I Need
My hardest one. I am really proud of myself for this one, too! This is HARD WORK and I am practicing every single day! Practice makes perfect!
I am really proud of my progress and give a TON of credit to this blog and the accountability of sharing with you guys what I am doing. I am going to print out a checklist and put it up on the wall to remind me every day of my goals.
Want a copy of my habit tracker to hang on your own wall (with your own goals)? Drop me a message and I’ll send you one!
