Do You Believe In New Year’s Resolutions?
Are you a believer in New Year's Resolutions? I love the idea of a fresh start. There’s something so energizing about flipping the calendar and imagining what’s possible in the year ahead.
And I also know that most of my resolutions don’t last long. (I did manage to floss daily for years, one of my long-ago resolutions… but I certainly don’t floss daily now.)
This year, one of my intentions is to reconnect with healthy eating and intermittent fasting habits that supported my health before I became a mom of three. After 2.5 years of fertility meds, pregnancy, breastfeeding/pumping, and recovering from major abdominal surgery—all of which created significant food aversions—getting back to a higher protein, lower carbohydrate diet (and maybe even intermittent fasting) feels both exciting and daunting.
I know I’ve done it before, but honestly, I can’t quite remember how I did it! I know that I need a whole lot more motivation than I currently have.
I also know that the first step toward any meaningful change is acknowledging where you are. I’m in the contemplation stage, and I know that for me, a key piece will be community.
So, I’d love to know: What change are you contemplating for 2025? You don’t have to commit to anything beyond thinking about it. Just hit reply and share one sentence or phrase about what you’d love to achieve for your health next year—I can’t wait to hear from you.
